I had tried Baby Brasa at an event and was wowed by how unique and delish it was. I will NEVER-ever order a salad when I'm out because it's goat food- however Baby brasa's Quinoa salad is my only exception to that. Filling and delicious it gets it right, with a huge half an avocado for those who love it, get the yellow pepper sauce in the salad and thank me later ;)
The empanada appetizer was good! It tasted fresh and delish but it's very small, the interior of Baby Brasa brings me back to my hometown of Miami so it gets bonus points there for me. The service had no blips and when asked to split the bill the server was easily able to do so.
The downside in my opinion is the food is not reasonably priced, portions seem to be smaller and the prices are high for NYC where you can get comprable Spanish food for way less.
It's a great spot if you want a lively little dinner and an amazing salad- the ambience is totally worth it! -

AVOID this place! We had one of the worst experiences dinning out here. Service was unprofessional and seemed to be more interested in greeting their own friends than seating customers. Even with a reservation, it took them 30 minutes to seat us and ANOTHER 30 minutes just to give us our drinks. When the food arrived, the waiter had forgotten one of the plates and seemed confused about what to do.
The WORST thing is that they intentionally overcharged the tip put on my card after leaving the restaurant, but I luckily kept the customer copy and disputed the charge.
If a restaurant is purposefully overcharging customers hoping they won't notice, I can only imagine how long they'll be open in NY -

I've been here twice: first was on a date and secondly this past weekend with my dad and little sister. I had a Pulsd deal this time around which was a pretty good value: two drinks, an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $60 (not including tax or tip). All in all, I was content with the dinner but only with the caveat that I had that deal; I wouldn't have been happy about paying full price for the experience.
Service was fine throughout the meal but nothing exceptional. Atmosphere is very clubby - didn't bother me the first time, but it was weird with my family. Could barely hear myself think over the music.
We ordered the ceviche mixto to start, which was great, but $21. Leche de Tigre was phenomenal and my dad loved the Andean corn. Seafood was very fresh. The shrimp was particularly good, in my opinion.
For our mains we had the Paella and the Vegan Saltado ($28 and $24, respectively). Paella was a ridiculously small portion size, but admittedly the flavor was great. One major complaint is that some of the clam shells had gotten smashed and so I kept biting on rogue shells. Yuck. Vegan Saltado was also great and my sister loved it. Much better portion size than the paella, oddly.
For dessert, we opted for the Tres Leches cake. I had it last time I was there too and remembered it being better, but it was still good.
Best part were the pisco sours. Drinks were really well made and were strong.
All in all, worth going with a Pulsd deal, but would probably advise to skip otherwise. Would equate it closer to a Tao/Bodega Negra type experience than I would to a typical "nice" dinner.
